    Please open functions.php of the parent theme (Evento) and in function load_scripts() add the following:

    wp_register_style( 'default_stylesheet',get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/style.css' );
    wp_enqueue_style( 'default_stylesheet' );

    Hello Cornel, thanks for this but I'm a bit confused here.

    In another request (#394) about some other issues, Nick advised to do the following regarding child theme:

    "Also,for child theaming functionality, please replace next row in function.php:

    wp_register_style( 'default_stylesheet',get_template_directory_uri() . '/style.css' );

    with:

    wp_register_style( 'default_stylesheet',get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/style.css' );"

    I did so yesterday and it seems to work fine.

    What do you suggest? Leave it as is or add also the second line (wp_enqueue_style) you submitted in your message above?

    Thanks for your assistance!

    Hello,

    I was able to create a create a child theme and have the child's style.css file overriding that of the parent.  However, I am unable to have any .php files added to the child theme directory override the existing files in the parent directory.  Is there a way I can make this work?  I was looking to override some code within shcode.class.php and do not want to make these changes in the original file...
